Abstract Atlas helps you search conference research and keep a personal shortlist.

Google sign-in

Google provides a verified account identifier and basic profile information when you sign in. Atlas uses your stable Google identifier to keep your saved library separate from other users, and your display name to show which account is signed in. Calendar access requires separate permission. Google ID tokens are verified on the server and are not stored as your session.

Google Calendar

If you connect Google Calendar, Atlas uses read-only access to list the calendars you can choose and retrieve events from the conference dates on your selected calendars. Atlas uses event titles, times, locations, and availability to show your itinerary, flag conflicts, and plan venue routes. The browser keeps a local copy of those entries. Google access tokens are held in memory for the current page. Remove Google calendar data from the Personal calendar panel to clear the local copy, or manage authorization in your Google Account.

Atlas handles information received from Google Calendar under the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Your shortlist and notes

When signed in, selected abstract identifiers, reading status, order, and notes are stored in the site's account database. You can remove saved items and clear notes in the interface. Removing an item leaves a record of that removal so an old browser copy cannot restore it unintentionally. If you choose to keep an existing saved account library when signing in with Google, that account is linked to your verified Google identity.

Private conference photos

When signed in, you can attach photos to official abstracts and Saved calendar sessions. Atlas keeps the full-resolution file on the device that added it and syncs a compressed copy to private file storage. Use Save original or Download original to keep a separate file outside Atlas. Atlas keeps a record of the account, item, upload time and size for each photo. Removing an item from Saved keeps its photos. To delete a photo and its file, open the item’s Photos panel and select Delete. Only upload images you have permission to capture and keep.

Calendar links

If you add a calendar link (for example an iCloud, Outlook or Google sharing link), Atlas’s server fetches that calendar when you open your itinerary so this browser can read it; calendar hosts do not let browsers read these links directly. When you are signed in, Atlas stores the link and a short label in your account so it follows you to other devices. Atlas does not store the calendar’s events on its server, and links are not written to logs. Anyone with a public calendar link can view that calendar, so you can remove a link in Atlas and turn off sharing in your calendar app at any time.

Calendar subscribe link

If you create a subscribe link, your calendar app (such as Apple Calendar, Outlook or Google Calendar) fetches a calendar of your saved talks and sessions from Atlas, using that link instead of your sign-in. Atlas stores only a scrambled fingerprint (hash) of the link, so it cannot show the link again; this device remembers the link it created. Anyone who has the link can see your saved talks, but not your notes or personal calendar events. You can reset the link or turn it off at any time, and old links then stop working.

Browser storage and sessions

Atlas keeps local copies of your library and pending changes in browser storage. Anonymous saves and imported datasets stay in that browser. Account sessions use an opaque, secure, HTTP-only cookie and a server-stored hash, with an expiry of 30 days. Signing out invalidates that session. Clearing browser storage does not delete account-backed saved items.

Hosting and public sources

Atlas is hosted on ChatGPT Sites infrastructure, with account data in its Cloudflare-backed database. Hosting and sign-in providers process information required to operate their services. Conference abstracts and author details come from the original public programme; the source links identify those records. Operational logs may include routine request metadata. Atlas has no advertising trackers in its application code.

Questions and deletion requests
